Not all revolutions taste as sweet

We like to do things a bit differently in Australia. That’s why we’ve infused our Sweetwater Gin with the heartwood of the native ironbark tree. This recipe also uses native citrus and botanicals, supplied by indigenous farmers from northern New South Wales and southern Queensland.

With just one sip, you’ll experience anise myrtle, highland pepper berries, juniper, Batlow apples and the distinct taste of Australia.

About Goodradigbe Distillery:  Goodradigbe Distillery was conceived on the banks of the Goodradigbe River where founder and distiller John O’Connor learnt to fly-fish in the pristine Snowy Mountains wilderness of New South Wales, Australia. It was to be the starting point for a revolutionary journey that is only now coming to fruition; a journey to make uniquely Australian spirits.

John wanted to make quality spirits that had provenance; to produce a singular Australian taste quicker and deliver it with flair. This lead to him creating his innovative and patent pending accelerated maturation cubes, built from unique Australian hardwoods to make Single Malt spirits. The cubes have a much higher wood-to-liquid volume than a barrel, so more wood equals more flavour and the colour of a 10-year-old single malt whisky in just eight weeks.

If the journey started with Single Malt spirits, it didn’t end there -- John also makes three very fine gins, each with unique botanical blends, and one of which is wood-aged using his hardwood cubes.

The Australian hardwoods used by John are hard and dense because of the weather extremes. Unlike oak, which is effectively a ‘wet’ wood to begin with, these hardwoods react violently with the liquid, cracking and opening up, absorbing the liquid. The results are single malt spirits and wood-infused gins that are sweet, complex, delicious and revolutionary.
