KI NO TEA is created in collaboration with tea-grower and blender, Hori-Shichimeien, founded in the Meiji era in 1879. Based in the famous Uji region to the south of Kyoto city, a number if super-premium Uji teas have been specially selected to form the heart of KI NO TEA.

Tencha and Gyokuro provide intense aromas and depth of flavour with a wonderful sweetness that occurs naturally in the distillation of these superior teas.

KI NO TEA uses leaves harvested in the Okunoyama tea yard which dates back to the 1300s, and are blended carefully into a secret botanical recipe by the distiller.

Gentle aromas give the impression of walking into a silent Japanese tea house. First, sweet notes like white-chocolate and citrus arise from the glass, then juniper. KI NO TEA finishes with a very long lasting, warm green tea fragrance.

Botanicals: Juniper berry, Orris, Hinoki, Yuzu, Lemon, Green tea (Gyokuro & Tencha)

Tasting notes:

• A fresh, sweet and delicate aroma of yuzu, plus juniper and green tea 

• On the palate, there is gentle sweetness, then distinct juniper comes to the fore alongside green tea
• The finish is long and clean with green tea scents.

Serving suggestions:

• Absolutely superb neat or over ice  

• In a G&T, we’d suggest a very neutral tonic such a Capi Dry

About The Kyoto Distillery: Japan’s first dedicated artisanal gin distillery. Located in Minami-Ku, in the south part of Kyoto City and close to the Fushimi region, famed for hundreds of years for its production of delicious nihon-shu (Japanese sake).

The founders' aim was simple: they wanted to produce the best dry gin that they could, utilising local botanicals wherever possible. The Kyoto Distillery want every element of their final product to be completely authentic, from the local sourcing of the ingredients through to the design and craftsmanship of the packaging.
