A gin crafted to showcase an unsung hero amongst Australian native flora - Anise Myrtle (Syzygium anisatum). Its leaves are aniseed flavoured and scented, and so too is this gin ... bringing an anise or liquorice flavour. Not at all over-powering or unpleasant, lovers of these flavours will be well at home and enjoy this gin at sundown and beyond.

Botanicals: juniper berries, almonds, angelica, orris root, anise myrtle (leaf)

Tasting notes:

• Aroma: Fragrant, sweet liquorice ahead of spiced earth
• Palate: Sweet liquorice continues alongside a light pepper 
• Finish: As liquorice descends on the finish, a sweet pepper builds nicely

Serving suggestions:

• Given the natural sweetness, in a G&T, we’d suggest a neutral dry tonic such as Capi Dry or Longrays Native Tonic
• Garnish with a dried citrus slice - lemon, lime or grapefruit
• In a cocktail, we suggest a Negroni or Gin Old Fashioned

About Clark Beverages: Clark Beverages is a small boutique gin distillery founded by a husband and wife team from Wamboin, NSW, in the bushland east of Canberra. 

Part of their vision is to craft gins where a single Australian botanical can take centre stage with simplicity, balance and elegance; rather than blending a large number of botanicals where they believe complexity can sometimes be too focused on the journey rather than the destination.

For the Clarks, the destination is producing a range of quintessential Australian gins bringing a single native botanical to the fore alongside a small number of traditional ingredients. In their two initial gin releases, there are only five botanicals in each gin – four traditional and one Australian native.

Their gins are boldly contemporary, balanced and refined.
